Yesterday morning I got a phone call that devastated me. I’m struggling with this loss and am having a hard time with my thoughts. But, my heart goes out to his family and friends who were blessed by his light in their (and mine) lives. Processing this is impossible right now.
In 1993, Doherty was briefly engaged to Max Factor heir Dean Jay Factor before he filed for a restraining order on May 25, 1993. He alleged physical violence and threats on the part of Doherty. However, Doherty’s father claimed the abuse came from Factor and not her. On October 11, 1993, Doherty married Ashley Hamilton, the son of George Hamilton. They filed for divorce in April 1994. In 2002, Doherty married Rick Salomon, but the marriage was annulled after nine months. On October 15, 2011, Doherty married photographer Kurt Iswarienko in Malibu, California.

Ct scan to do mapping for radiation plan. This scared me so much. Not sure why. Was supposed to get it with contrast but the minute they started looking at which vein to use I started crying. Full panic attack. Sometimes, you just get sick of being poked. And that's ok. I cried. I felt sorry for myself for a minute. Then stopped and reminded myself of how lucky I am. Thank God my new radiation oncologist decided to try without contrast so I would calm down. So…. one panic attack down and mapping done!! Now to actually start radiation… #cancerslayer #warrior #fightlikeagirl #blessed
In 1999, Doherty claimed that she had been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. In March 2015, she was diagnosed with breast cancer which had spread to her lymph nodes. In February 2016, Doherty revealed that she was receiving anti-estrogen treatment to shrink her tumor and enable treatment by lumpectomy rather than mastectomy. Due to the presence of multiple tumors, a lumpectomy was not possible, and a single mastectomy was preferred in My 2016. Surgery revealed that some of the cancer cells may have spread beyond the lymph nodes. As the cancer was more advanced than previously thought, Doherty underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy following surgery. On April 29,2017, Doherty announced that her cancer was on remission. On February 4, 2020, while appearing on ABC News she announced that her cancer had returned a year prior and that she is now stage four.

In the interview, the 48-year-old opened up about her breast cancer’s recurrence and how she is coping with it.
“I definitely have days where I say why me. And then I go, well why not me? who else? Who else besides me deserves this? None of us do,” she said. “But I would say that my first reaction is always concern about how– how am I going to tell my mom, my husband.”
Since her initial breast cancer diagnosis in March 2015, the actress of popular hit shows like “Charmed” and “90210” has always been candid about her disease by documenting her battle on social media.
