Tory Lanez Biography
Tory Lanez was born Daystar Peterson on July 27, 1992, in Toronto, Canada to a Bajan father, Sonstar Peterson, and Curacao and Guyanese mother, Luella. His family was an ardent Christian family. Tory was one of the four children in the family. His family was initially based in Montreal, before relocating to Miami, Florida. Tory was a rap music enthusiast since his early childhood, before tragically losing his mother to a rare disease, while at the age of 11 years. Daystar’s father later remarried and the family moved to
Atlanta, Georgia, where Lanez met his friend Hakeem who at the time was a janitor. Daystar’s moniker “Lanez” was given to him by Hakeem as a comment on Daystar’s tendencies of playing in the lanes and not looking for traffic. The loss of his mother impacted him a lot which made his father send him back to Toronto to live with his grandmother as he suffered from behavioral issues. He later adopted the moniker Tory at the age of 16.

Tory Lanez live stream Quarantine radio was temporarily banned from hosting lives after a twerker performed inappropriate antics with a dildo. As per the live-stream routine, Tory invited his celebrity friends such as Tiffany Haddish and Wiz Khalifa to join him for a quick chat, interspersed with twerking competition and downing shots.
His fans retaliated with the #FreeTory hashtag and accused the platform of unfair ruling. Instagram CEO addressed the suspension during a live chat with The Shade Room on Wednesday (April 8) and stated that it was over nude content that is a violation of the company’s community guidelines.
“Quarantine Radio is great, so first, shout out to Tory Lanez on that. Quarantine Radio is not banned,” Mosseri clarified. “The lives have been great; the lives with the fans have been great. But you can’t have nudity. That’s part of our community guidelines, part of our community rules, and we can’t make exceptions.”
