Richard Quest COVID-19 Status

Richard Austin Quest is an Engish Journalist and a CNN International Anchor. He is also the CNN business Editor at large, based in New York City. He anchors “Quest Means Business” the five-times-weekly business program and fronts the CNN shows “Business Traveller,” “The Express,” and “Quest’s World of Wonder.” Richard Quest recently revealed coronavirus diagnosis on live TV. However, he stated so far that his symptoms have not been “horrific.”

Richard Quest Biography

Richard Quest is a native of Liverpool, Merseyside, England and was born and partly brought up there. Richard Quest is of Jewish ancestry. He was educated at the State Comprehensive Roundhay School in Leeds followed by Airedale and Wharfedale College and the University of Leeds, where he studied law, taking his degree in 1983 (Law LLB Hons.) and was called to the Bar. He had already gained broadcasting experience when he spent the 1983-84 academic year in the United States at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. As news director for campus radio station WRVU, he built the reporting staff from scratch.

Richard Quest Career 

Richard Quest has worked on different platforms. He began as a trainee journalist at the BBC in 1985 where he joined its financial section in 1987. He later moved to New York City in 1989 to become the BBC’s North American business correspondent. Richard Quest later joined CNN in 2001 for the launch of Business International. Since 2001 Richard Quest has covered a variety of different events for CNN among them the analysis of the U.S elections as American Quest. He later turned down an offer to join Al Jazeera English news channel in 2006 on the grounds “that being gay and Jewish might not be suitable.”

In 2008, Richard Quest was arrested in New York City’s Central Park with drugs in his pocket. Quest admitted being in the procession of crystal methamphetamine, a controlled substance. On 26 June 2014, Quest described his pas experience as a closeted gay man on his CNN television program Quest Means Business. The case was then dismissed by the Judge on condition that Quests attends counseling.

Richard Quest Tests Positive for COVID-19

Richard Quest said that over the weekend he tested positive for COVID-19. In a Twitter post, Quest said, “I have caught coronavirus. I am blessed in that I have a few symptoms. Just a cough. I am saving my prayers and thoughts for those less fortunate. Stay in. And protect lives.”

His CNN platform Quest Means Business tweeted, “RichardQuest reveals he has tested positive for COVID-19, in tonight’s #profitablemoment. “I feel fine, I feel good,” he says. “As long as I can… you and I will still get together at this time and have a good chat about the economic side of what’s going on.”

Two other CNN presenters Chris Cuomo and Brooke Baldwin have also contracted coronavirus. Last week Cuomo revealed that his wife Cristina Greeven tested positive for Coronavirus. Speaking to his brother NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Chris Cuomo announced that his wife was also COVID-19.

Chris Cuomo also revealed the moment he emerged from his basement where he has been hiding for the last several weeks and conducting his show, Cuomo Prime Time.

Quest has revealed that despite his diagnosis, he plans to stay on the air unless “of course it all gets too much.”
